Wood Carvings and Porcelain Engravings Celebrate the New Spring,Every Work Hides Good Luck for the Year of the Horse

During the Spring Festival, a vibrant intangible cultural heritage exhibition was held in the Gaoding Rural Revitalization Area of Chengwu County. Traditional crafts such as wood carving and porcelain engraving were showcased, with exquisite works and cultural and creative products drawing residents to stop, appreciate and purchase. Integrating intangible cultural heritage into the Spring Festival celebration added profound cultural charm to the Year of the Horse.

The exhibition featured a dazzling array of exquisitely crafted works. Gao’s Wood Relief, a provincial-level intangible cultural heritage, presented rich themes inspired by Heze peonies, the hometown of Bole, and the Year of the Horse. Classic reliefs depicting the Four Great Classical Novels were also on display. Porcelain engraving, another provincial-level heritage, impressed with its elegance and refinement. Works from the Bole Appreciating Horses series and peony-themed creative products combined regional features with auspicious meanings, perfectly blending traditional craftsmanship, local culture and festive elements.

Each piece carries forward traditional skills, while the creative products connect with daily life. The exhibition brought ancient crafts out of workshops and into the festive season, enabling their living inheritance amid the lively atmosphere of the Spring Festival.

This exhibition provided a platform for display, exchange and market promotion for traditional crafts, enriched the cultural life of the public during the festival, and deepened the integration of intangible cultural heritage inheritance with rural culture and tourism.
